An aggressive adaptation of Shakespeare’s play, this production utilizes his words, frenzied movement set to original beat-driven music, and new text culled from interviews with residents of the Lillian Booth / Actors Fund Assisted Living Facility.
O.S.R.LEAR explores generational division and asks the questions: What do we owe our elders, what might they owe us, and what can we learn from one another?
As our inaugural production, Old Sound Room Lear premiered in New York City in June of 2013, was fully funded by a highly successful Kickstarter campaign, and was featured in both Playbill and American Theatre Magazine.
